Post-Construction Cleaning Checklist

• ☐Remove large debris, scraps, and leftover building materials
• ☐Check for nails, screws, staples, and sharp objects on floors
• ☐Verify HVAC vents are sealed during construction or need vacuuming
• ☐Open windows briefly to ventilate dust before detailed cleaning
• ☐Take photos of any damage or areas needing contractor touch-up

• ☐Dust ceiling corners, crown molding, and trim
• ☐Wipe ceiling fans, light fixtures, and vents
• ☐Clean window frames, sills, tracks, and blinds
• ☐Dust door frames, tops of doors, and closet shelves
• ☐Vacuum or wipe baseboards, chair rails, and wainscoting
• ☐Remove dust from outlets, switch plates, and registers

• ☐Clean inside and outside of cabinets and drawers
• ☐Wipe countertops, backsplash, and sink basin
• ☐Polish faucets and fixtures; remove water spots
• ☐Clean appliances: oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher
• ☐Sweep and mop floors; detail edges and corners
• ☐Remove sticker residue from cabinets and appliances

• ☐Scrub toilets, sinks, showers, and tubs
• ☐Clean mirrors, glass shower doors, and fixtures
• ☐Wipe tile, grout, and caulking lines
• ☐Dust and wipe vanity cabinets, shelves, and drawers
• ☐Mop floors and detail behind toilets and corners
• ☐Remove paint splatters and grout haze from surfaces

• ☐Wipe down walls for dust, fingerprints, and scuffs
• ☐Clean built-in shelves, mantels, and closet interiors
• ☐Dust window treatments and blinds
• ☐Vacuum carpet edges, under baseboards, and in corners
• ☐Sweep and mop hard-surface floors
• ☐Remove paint spots and adhesive from trim (non-damaging methods)

• ☐Wash interior windows and sliding door tracks
• ☐Polish mirrors and glass partitions
• ☐Remove paint overspray from glass edges
• ☐Wipe down window hardware and locks

• ☐Vacuum all carpeted areas thoroughly
• ☐Sweep and mop hard floors with appropriate cleaner
• ☐Detail edges, corners, and along baseboards
• ☐Remove construction dust from grout and tile crevices
• ☐Check for sticky residue or adhesive spots

• ☐Walk every room with a flashlight to spot missed dust
• ☐Check outlets and switch plates for dust and fingerprints
• ☐Ensure HVAC registers and returns are clean
• ☐Schedule a professional final clean for walkthrough day
